Mommy and Me: Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. This type of class includes mom or dad or another loved one participating in the class along with the little dancer. Teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting and keeping the little dancer on track.

Little Stars: Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner.  The dancers do not have mom, dad or another loved one by their side during the class, so this class is great for children who will be able to participate in class on their own. Teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along in a way that is fun, positive and appropriate for children 3-6 years of age.

Improv: Improv does not contain anything choreographed. It is simply movement that each individual dancer comes up with. Class consists of moving across the floor and dancing whatever goes along with what is given. Exercises, such as partner improv, will be performed. Teachers will provide confidence building activities.

Poms: Poms is a class that consists of high energy at all times. This class will work on technique and movement while using pom-poms. The class will begin with a short warm up, then proceed to dance combinations with upbeat music.​ This class will have the opportunity to perform a routine at an end-of-summer performance.

Rhythm Class: This class will encourage rhythm and crossing the mid line. Rhythm is so important for heling the brain develop and learn to work together. Childrens’ minds are altered when studying music. Music involves a structured sequence of patterns which leads to improvements with spatial skills. Spatial-temporal reasoning is used in higher-level thinking such as math and science.  Students will retain, recall, and remember while using music and movement in a positive, social environment.

Adult Hip Hop (18+): Whether you’re looking to pick up a few moves, expand on your dance training, get some exercise, meet new people, or just have a lot of FUN, our Adult Hip Hop class has got it all! We start each class with a warm-up of free-styling, stretching, and conditioning that’s guaranteed to get your heart pounding. Students will more into learning choreography that’s set to groove-worthy jams spanning all decades of music! Warning: this class will induce the best of friendships, giddiness, and a whole lot of FUN! You’ll be having such a good time, you won’t even realize you’re breaking a sweat!
 

Lyrical: This class gives students the opportunity to experience lyrical dance, which combines techniques and skills from ballet, jazz and modern. Students will also explore how lyrical dance emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. Students will be taught fun choreography that they will have the opportunity to perform a routine at an end-of-summer performance. Students should take this class in conjunction with ballet and leaps & turns.

Beginner Tumbling: This class will cover somersault variations, right & left cartwheels, handstand, elbow handstand, and headstands, bridge kick-over, bridge straight legs feet together, backbend from standing up, round off, backbend stand up. As students’ progress, students may learn to do one hand cartwheels and aerials.

Hip Hop:  This class will help dancers strive to reach the next level with intricate choreography and demands the use of musicality, dynamics, and performance on the dance floor. Teachers push dancers through technique, drills, and formations with the understanding of stage performance. This class will encourage students to step outside of their comfort zone by bringing their own individual style and personality to the dance floor. Students will work to gain strength and stamina both on and off the stage. Students will be taught fun choreography that they will have the opportunity to perform a routine at an end-of-summer performance

Leaps and Turns: The purpose of this class is to improve flexibility in all main regions of the body. Body parts such as hamstrings, quads, knees, backs, shoulders, and feet will be stretched. This class focuses on pure technical positioning and skills. It includes turns, jumps, strengthening exercises, and positioning exercises.

Ballet: This classical dance form is the foundation for all forms of dance! Dancers in this age category will learn the basics, and focus on developing their turn out, discipline, poise, balance, grace, coordination, musicality, and confidence! Classes will move from the barre, to center work, to across the floor work. In addition to basic steps, students will learn body alignment, placement, balance, and elegance. Special attention will be paid to proper execution of skills and muscular development off all our ballet dancers. Terminology will be emphasized and utilized in each class. The knowledge, exercises, and technique used in each class will be utilized in all other forms of dance the student engages in.
 

Dress Code:



Ballet AND Leaps and Turns: Leotard, tights, and ballet shoes or lyrical shoes.  Hair must be pulled back.  Dancers may wear Spandex shorts over Leotard.


Mommy & Me: Leotard, tights and ballet shoes OR athletic wear: shorts and t-shirt. Hair should be pulled back. No outside shoes on the dance floor. No jean shorts. 

Little Stars: Leotard, tights and ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back.


Improv: Athletic clothes (i.e. shorts, sweats, t-shirt), jazz shoes or lyrical shoes, and hair must be pulled back.


Poms: Athletic clothes (i.e. shorts, sweats, t-shirt), jazz shoes, and hair must be pulled back.

Rhythm Class: Athletic clothes (i.e. shorts, sweats, t-shirt), gym shoes- no outside shoes.

Adult Hip Hop: Athletic clothes (i.e. shorts, sweats, t-shirt), gym shoes-no outside shoes.
